Global catalog and tenant offers
Understand the commercial model
Subscription & billing contains Global catalog and Tenant offers. The catalog is shared across tenants, while an offer applies to its selected tenant. Products, plans, published plan versions and prices have different responsibilities. Confirm catalog-management authority and the selected tenant before changing commercial records.
Published plan terms remain associated with their version. A new set of terms begins as a draft, and an existing used price may require New price rather than editing its historical value. Review the record's status and available row actions before deciding how to make a change.
Create or revise the catalog
- Open Subscription & billing → Global catalog.
- Use search, filters, Columns and View to inspect the existing products, plans, versions and prices.
- Create a product or plan using New product or New plan where permitted. Enter the form's identity and description fields.
- On an eligible plan or version, choose New draft to prepare revised terms.
- Review the draft's limits and entitlements. The editor's JSON fields require the indicated object format and supported value types.
- Save and inspect the draft. Use Publish and Publish version only after reviewing the resulting terms.
- Use New price to create a price for the intended Published plan version.
- Set Amount (minor units), Currency, Billing interval, Tax behavior and Tax rate (basis points), then verify the saved price.
One hundred minor units equals one currency unit. One hundred basis points equals one percent. These units should be checked before saving an amount, discount or tax value. Review the final order summary rather than interpreting an amount alone as a tax-inclusive customer total.
Configure a tenant offer
- Select the intended Tenant and open Tenant offers.
- Read the scope description and choose Reload offers if another administrator may have made a change.
- Choose New offer, or edit an eligible existing offer.
- Select Published price and confirm its read-only currency.
- Choose Offer type: a discount in basis points or a negotiated amount in minor units.
- Set Valid from (UTC), optional Valid until (UTC) and Status.
- Save and reload the same tenant's offers. Verify that its eligible price is reflected in the applicable commerce view.
When no eligible offer exists, public prices apply. Creating an offer does not duplicate the global catalog or rewrite the terms of an earlier order.
Acceptance and recovery
In a laboratory catalog, create a draft change and a synthetic offer for one tenant. Verify that another tenant continues to receive the applicable public price and that published historical terms remain inspectable.
If an editor reports that a record changed, preserve the entries, close it, reload the catalog or offers and reopen the latest record for review. If access or tenant changed, reopen in the correct authorized scope. Use Retire only after inspecting the record and its lifecycle implications.
